1. Evaluation
Candidacy Evaluation – This is a discussion that centers on school selection and the appropriate MBA programs to which the client should apply. “Appropriate” indicates programs that make sense for the client’s background and strengths. Sometimes the client “knows” what schools they want to apply to. However a discussion is warranted to draw out exactly how well the client is suited to the culture and profile of the desired school.
- This discussion includes elements of our “MBA Acceptance Equation.” This framework places a client’s current work experience, academic performance, personal passions and philanthropic pursuits, school selection in the proper context – a logical fit with their goals.
- This stage is where a client establishes their personal brand – a succinct definition of who a client is as an applicant to each selected school. This introspection is used to guide the client, maintain consistency and thus creates a “personal brand” for use when crafting essays.
- A dissection of school specific essay questions is conducted for the client. The consultant details what the essay questions are really asking beyond initial face value. Additionally, since all our consultants have relevant experience, this insight will be positioned from an MBA admissions committee point of view.
- Additionally, the consultant will provide insight into school visits and overall interaction with each school. This includes discussing the value of information sessions, specific class visits and interaction with alumni. This helps the client learn more about the school and creating memorable interaction with admissions committee members.
The product of this stage is a set of “action items” that the client and consultant are tasked with delivering in order to determine the client’s personal branding for each school in question.
The next stage is focused on essays, resumes, recommendations and overall candidacy development.
