Engage Services
Applying to the right graduate program is most of the most important decisions our clients will undertake in their lives. The Amerasia Consulting Group believes that this process it must be done right the first time as there are few opportunities to do it again. As a boutique admissions consulting firm, we will not offer a “one size fits all” client experience. Traditional approaches to providing admissions consulting services signal a cookie-cutter mindset; constraining a full vetting of the client’s individual needs.
Our services are one-on-one and the firm choses to engage only a limited number of clients per admission round. Due to the high-touch and comprehensive nature of our services, AACG will not extend our services to applicants who will not be competitive at top graduate programs. This is why AACG requires potential clients complete a complimentary, one-hour consultation, ensuring the right fit between client and consultant, before engaging any admissions consulting services.
To engage the firm’s services:
- A potential client must conduct a complimentary, one-hour consultation with a member of our admissions consulting staff before signing up for any AACG consulting service. Please contact our Los Angeles office by phone or by email.
- After the consultation, the client and the firm will decide on the services that will result in a compelling candidacy and application. Fees are quoted on an individual client basis.
This complimentary diagnostic consultation is mean to provide the candidate with a snapshot of where he or she stands in relation to a targeted set of MBA programs. This session is also a risk-free way of providing a potential client with an environmental scan of the admissions process and their role within it.
Specifically, the discussion will center on AACG’s “MBA Acceptance Equation” methodology with inputs based on the information provided in the Survey. The “MBA Acceptance Equation” provides a framework for objective evaluating these candidate inputs and the gaps that are inherent in an applicant’s profile. At a high-level this framework includes the following elements:
- GMAT (at or near the school’s mean) + GPA (undergrad performance and leadership activities)
- Work Experience (current, past leadership roles, recommendations)
- Personal Passions and Philanthropic Pursuits (consistent history of extracurricular leadership)
- Why MBA? (describe what the degree will do in general) + Why MBA from this program? (indicated by the school’s pedagogy) + Why Now? (sense of urgency)
These variables should logically sum to an applicant’s:
- Short Term (tactical/immediately upon graduation) + Longer Term Goals (5+ years out and waxes philosophic)
In this way the applicant gains a sense of how all parts sum to a whole, creating a logical and consistent messaging for an admissions committee reader. With our clients, this discussion forms the basis for a meaningful and productive relationship that results in acceptance to top MBA programs.
